A new rescue technique has been successfully used to free a lucky seal tangled in debris off the coast of Rockingham. The subantarctic fur seal was first spotted on Saturday, 29 August near Penguin Island, with a member of the public reporting the sighting to the Wildcare Helpline. Although it was too late to respond that day, Parks and Wildlife Service marine rangers remained on standby for the next confirmed sighting.
