Manchester United have secured the signing of Patrick Dorgu from Serie A side Lecce for a fee of £25.2million ($31.2m; €30m) plus £4.2m in add-ons. Dorgu is United’s second signing of the January window after teenage centre-back Ayden Heaven’s arrival from Arsenal was confirmed on Saturday.

Amorim, said to be an admirer of Mendes from their time together at Sporting CP, welcomed Patrick Dorgu from Lecce during the January transfer window. United spent £29.5million on his signature, but Lecce president Saverio Sticchi Damian claimed that United threatened to call off the transfer.
