More than a month after President Trump deployed the U.S. military to Los Angeles amid immigration sweeps, the troops have largely disappeared from public view.

Roughly 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines had been deployed. It wasn’t immediately clear how long the rest would stay in the region.

Thousands of National Guard members have served in the L.A. region since last month. Six soldiers spoke in interviews about low morale over the deployment.
