Bengals QB Joe Burrow excited for long-awaited return and Thanksgiving stage against Ravens
CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow confirmed on Tuesday that he’ll be returning on Thanksgiving night to start against the Baltimore Ravens. Burrow had surgery to repair a turf toe injury on Sept. 19, and is making his return nearly a full month ahead of schedule.
Joe Burrow and Dak Prescott are both elite Quarterbacks that will play football on Thanksgiving. We would better trust one over the other.
"I'm not ever going to go to somebody and say, 'Yeah, I'm healthy, but I don't think I should go out there and play,'" Burrow said Tuesday, ahead of his anticipated return against the Baltimore Ravens on Thanksgiving. "That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I'm not going to live my life and play this game scared of something happening."
CINCINNATI — Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was activated off injured reserve on Wednesday, the final hurdle he needed to clear in order to return on Thanksgiving night against the Baltimore Ravens.
Burrow already has a share of the Bengals franchise record for most consecutive wins by a starting quarterback with the eight in a row he reeled off to finish the 2022 season. It would be 10 in a row if the postseason counted.
“I’m not gonna ever go to somebody and say ‘I’m healthy, but I don’t think I should go out there and play,’” Burrow said. “That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I’m not gonna live my life and play this game, scared of something happening. Yeah, something’s gonna happen. It’s football.”
