In anticipation of potentially severe weather in Southeast Texas late Thursday through early Saturday, Gov. Greg Abbott has activated the state’s emergency resources.

Houston is expected to be hit by heavy rainfall later in the week, with a slight risk of excessive rainfall on Friday in eastern and southern parts of the area. Regardless of development, showers and thunderstorms will likely move through southeast Texas.

The disturbance is mainly going to be a rain-maker for Louisiana through Saturday, but it could bring us a round of storms Friday.
