BRUSSELS (Reuters) -China has decided to lift sanctions on members of the European Parliament as well as on its subcommittee on human rights, the parliament's president, Roberta Metsola, said on Wednesday.

China removed sanctions against European lawmakers amid speculation that President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs could lead to a reset of relations with the European Union.

BRUSSELS – China has lifted sanctions on five EU parliamentarians after signaling interest in closer economic and political ties with Europe. European Parliament President Roberta Metsola informed political group leaders during a closed-door meeting of the decision of the Chinese authorities on Wednesday.
