After days of expressing displeasure with his latest phone call with Putin, Trump went even further at a Cabinet meeting.

A new book alleges that President Donald Trump told donors he threatened Russian President Vladimir Putin with bombing Moscow if Russia invaded Ukraine.

Trump said at a Cabinet meeting that he was "not happy" with Putin, who he forcefully criticized for a second day in a row.

An audio recording from 2024 run by CNN in which Trump said he had threatened Putin with bombing Moscow if he entered Ukraine, plus the U.S. leader's latest criticism, could mean a tougher stance by Washington toward Moscow is on the cards.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Wednesday he expects a vote as soon as this month to place severe new sanctions on Russia, the latest sign of a growing fracture between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin,

"We're going to send some more weapons – we have to. They have to be able to defend themselves," Trump said of Ukraine July 7.

The president promised he would end the war before he even took office. Instead Putin is slaughtering more Ukrainian civilians.
