"It just shows the growth and the expansion of the league,” Connecticut Sun forward Tina Charles said of playing at the TD Garden against the Indiana Fever on Tuesday.
In a matchup against one of the best young bigs in the league, Charles and Boston had a bit of a heated moment as they battled in the post. Boston tried to jockey for positioning to receive an entry pass from star guard Caitlin Clark, but she ended up on the ground after a shove from Charles.
Other than the uncalled elbow on Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, the majority of the game was smooth. Indiana captured an 85-77 win over Connecticut, thanks to the performance from Kelsey Mitchell. The star guard had 20 points, two rebounds and three assists on 61.5% shooting from the field.
Tina Charles added another double-double to her record and Leïla Lacan had a career-high 19 points off the bench in the Sun's loss to the Fever on Tuesday night.
Boston moved from the US Virgin Islands to Worcester when she was 12, and had "a lot" of friends and family at TD Garden for Tuesday's game. She also had an uncharacteristically rough night.
