The Kansas Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert Tuesday for a missing 2-year-old from Topeka. The missing child, identified as Zabe Mendez, was last seen Friday in the 500 block of Northeast Wabash Avenue, according to the alert.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Topeka police have confirmed that one person was found dead at the Oakland home where a 2-year-old child was reported to be abducted this past Friday. Officials said the child, Zabe Mendez, and the suspect in the abduction were located at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday in Mantoon, Ill., and are in the custody of local authorities.

Hours after an Amber Alert was issued for Melina Frattolin on July 20, the 9-year-old was found dead in Ticonderoga, N.Y. Police said 'there is no indication that an abduction occurred' after finding 'inconsistencies' in her father's account of events.
