The Kettle Run Cougars face the Liberty Christian Bulldogs in a Virginia high school football Class 3 semifinal matchup.

Four Shenandoah District teams are left in the high school football playoffs. Only one — Wilson Memorial — is at home Nov. 21. The other three — Stuarts Draft, Riverheads and Buffalo Gap — all are on the road for the second week of the postseason.

Poquoson and Lafayette, Bay Rivers District standard bearers in the Virginia High School League football state semifinals, will almost be looking in mirrors, game-plan-wise, as they peer at their opponents across the line of scrimmage on Saturday.

The Union Bears (12-0) face the Ridgeview Wolfpack (11-1) in a Class 2 Virginia (VHSL) high school football regional final Saturday afternoon at Bullitt Park in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. The winner will advance to face Glenvar (13-0) in a Class 2 state semifinal Saturday, December 6. The state championship game is set for Saturday, December 13.

The Loudoun County Captains and the Stone Bridge Bulldogs won their respective regional championship games Friday and Saturday to earn spots in the Virginia High School League football state playoffs.

Both Buffalo Gap and Rappahannock pulled off upsets against their rivals to reach the state semifinals. Neither are satisfied to just be there.

Strasburg’s big threat on offense is running back Quincy Williams, the Bull Run District and VHSL Region 2B Offensive Player of the Year. Defensive lineman Hutson Conrad anchors the Rams defense. He was voted the VHSL Region 2B Defensive Player of the Year.
