More than a week after deadly floods struck Central Texas, search and rescue teams are continuing to probe debris for those still missing.

A Coast Guard rescue crew received distinguished awards for helping save the lives of those trapped in Kerrville, Texas, after historic flooding on July 4.

INGRAM, Texas — Search and rescue crews from Mexico were forced to halt their operations on the Guadalupe River in Ingram, Texas today as rain caused water levels to rise, complicating efforts to find victims of the deadly July 4th floods.

Volunteers are hoping to find the owners of stuffed animals, photographs and other keepsakes salvaged from the debris.

When a call for help came in during the devastating Texas floods — staff at the Kerrville school district didn't hesitate.

The Texas Game Wardens helped rescue along with local officials, helped rescue the man and woman after their vehicle was swept nearly a mile downstream by the floodwaters. According to the Texas Game Wardens, the car was forced by floodwaters into a square culvert underneath some railroad tracks, fully submerging the vehicle.

Attorney General Ken Paxton said he is launching an investigation into fraudulent scams that targeted donations for personal use, which were meant to assist rescue operations during the devastating floods that ripped through Central Texas.
