Terror group chief Naim Qassem admits Hashem Safieddine had been chosen as successor before he was killed, calls on Lebanese authorities to pressure Israel over ceasefire

It came days after a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement that ended the war between the Lebanese militant group and Israel was extended until Feb 18.

Hezbollah announced Sunday that a funeral for Hassan Nasrallah and his successor Hashem Safieddine, who were killed by Israel more than four months ago, will take place later this month.

The head of Lebanon's armed group Hezbollah said on Sunday that his predecessor, Hassan Nasrallah, would be laid to rest on Feb. 23, nearly five months after he was killed in an Israeli air attack on Beirut's southern suburbs.

Gaza Hezbollah's former leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli air strike in September, will be buried in Beirut's southern suburbs, a traditional heartland for the group, its new secretary general has confirmed.
