The Royals add All-Star closer Carlos Estévez on a two-year deal to boost their bullpen after last season’s struggles.

The Royals’ class of 2025 international signees also includes twins Luis Steven King and Luis Ramon King from the Dominican Republic. Luis Steven signed a reported $400,000 bonus deal and Luis Ramon signed a $170,000 bonus deal, per baseball insider Francys Romero.

The Royals got a shout-out from a “CBS Mornings” anchor on Wednesday for their support of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. In the month of February, the Royals and their charitable foundation will cover the cost of admission for anyone who wants to visit the museum. That’s in honor of Black History Month.

Estévez provides quality depth to the bullpen. He began his career with the Colorado Rockies in 2016 and was an All-Star during the 2023 campaign. The Royals will be his fourth team heading into his ninth MLB season.
