Well, sort of, at least. The Rangers have three prospects ranked on the preseason top 100 lists of the five major outlets — Baseball America, MLB Pipeline, ESPN, The Athletic and Baseball Prospectus — that evaluate the league’s young talent. And, for the most part, there’s relative consensus on where each of the prospects rank, too.

MLB Pipeline revealed its top 100 prospects ahead of the 2025 MLB Season. Which Texas Rangers prospects made the cut?

Baseball America just released its updated rankings for the 2025 preseason and the Texas Rangers had three prospects ranked in the Top 50.

As the site drops its top 10 prospect list for every position, the Rangers were yet to have any names pop up at catcher, nor first, second or third base. But the 18-year-old Walcott is listed by Pipeline as the No. 4 shortstop in all of baseball.

Castillo will be a significant name to watch in 2025. The teenage shortstop is a slender 6’3″, 165 lbs, with room to grow. His speed is at least 60 grade, and the hit tool isn’t far behind. When Castillo taps into his power, we’re looking at a guy who could be a top-25 overall prospect.
