With six days before the MLB trade deadline, the New York Mets have landed on the board by trading for relief pitcher Gregory Soto from the Baltimore Orioles on Friday, SNY's Andy Martinio reported. ESPN's Jeff Passan confirmed the news.
Soto, 30, originally signed with the Tigers out of the Dominican Republic and pitched in Detroit from 2019 to 2022. He served as the Tigers’ closer for much of his final two seasons and was selected to the All-Star team in both 2021 and 2022.
