Arsenal are close to a deal for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres after negotiations over the finer details of the transfer took longer than expected.

It has now been reported that Arsenal have reach an agreement on a £54.8m deal for Gyokeres, plus £8.6m in add-ons, taking the total potential value to over £63m. With multiple outlets reporting the development, fans allowed themselves to get excited over the move after weeks of speculation and delays.

Gyokeres was focused only on joining Arsenal and, despite late interest from elsewhere, he did not consider any other team.
