The Detroit Red Wings have announced a contract extension for forward Dominik Shine, who is currently serving as team captain of the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.

Shine, 32, ranks among the Griffins leaders with 14 goals (tied for second), 13 assists (tied for fourth), 27 points (second) and a plus-17 rating (tied for fourth).
