Boys basketball: Notes, rankings, games and players to watch for Feb. 3
Voting in the 10th annual contest that includes 30 boys and 30 girls candidates is scheduled to start Feb. 16. Players from all grades 9-12 are eligible. Also coaches are encouraged to submit player-of-the-week nominations to Barry Lewis. The deadline for nominations is 6 p.m. Sundays.

The fifth edition of the Section V Boys Basketball Poll may look odd to some. The large school poll has 11 teams in the top 10 with one two-way tie and a pair of three-way ties. Only one coach voted on each poll this week.
