Summer standouts Johnny Furphy, Quenton Jackson and RayJ Dennis didn't play Thursday. But rookie Kam Jones did, and had another impressive outing.
Taelon Peter was drafted out of Liberty in the second round by the Pacers. He has looked impressive so far in Summer League, and some believe he is deserving of the final two-way contract the Pacers have available. Based on Pritchard's response on social media, it looks like that's exactly what is going to happen.
The Pacers are 1-2 through three Summer League games. They will play the Pelicans in a consolation game Friday for their fifth and final game.
Pacers wing Johnny Furphy will play in NBA Summer League for the Pacers as well all three two-way contract players from 2024-25.
Furphy, a 6-foot-9, 200-pound, 20-year-old former second round draft pick from Melbourne, Australia, has been working out in Indy since the opening of summer league camp on Friday. The Pacers will meet the Cleveland Cavaliers in the summer league opener for both teams at 4 p.m. Central Time on Thursday in Las Vegas.
During Monday's game, Furphy went viral for a must-see poster dunk. Right after the dunk hit the internet, his Pacers teammate, Tyrese Haliburton, took to X to share his feelings on the slam. "Johnny MF Furphy sheeeeeesh."
The Pacers allowed 38 points off turnovers and made just 8-of-42 3-point attempts in a 104-85 loss to the Thunder in NBA Summer League play.
