Grambling upsets Southern in SWAC men’s basketball quarterfinals
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - March Madness turned into March Sadness for Southern men’s basketball. With the season and an NCAA tournament berth on the line, the top-seed Jaguars were stunned by eighth-seed Grambling State 65-62 in overtime.
Madness is underway and no play exemplifies that more than the last play of regulation between Southern and Grambling.
Mikale Stevenson scored 17 points, five in the overtime, as Grambling knocked off Southern 65-62 on Wednesday in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament.
