Baseball sensation Shohei Ohtani is adding 'author' to his accolades with a children's book, 'Decoy Saves Opening Day,' slated for February 2026. Inspired by his dog, Decoy, the story follows a thrilling quest with lessons on preparedness and loyalty.

Injuries may have prevented Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani from throwing from the mound recently, but they haven’t stopped him from coming up with a new pitch: co-writing a children’s book based on his baseball-fetching dog Decoy.

The book is inspired by Ohtani's dog, Decoy, who threw out the ceremonial first pitch before a game at Dodgers Stadium in August of 2024.
