Trump's comments to Liberian President Joseph Boakai were reminiscent of an offensive phrase that's commonly directed at Black people, experts say.

President Trump complimented the president of Liberia on his English, apparently unaware that it’s the country’s official language.

Boakai's inclusion on the guest list gave him an opportunity to tout Liberia's mineral assets and history of democratic elections.
