Eric Artz, the CEO of the outdoor retail company, said in a message that the business will lose 357 workers and have lower revenue in 2024.

REI is laying off 357 employees as the company braces for a challenging year, CEO Eric Artz told employees on Thursday. The cuts represent 2.2% of REI’s total workforce.

Eric Artz, who has served as interim CEO since February, was chosen by the board of directors to lead the co-op after a national search.

Those losing their jobs include 200 people at headquarters, 121 in distribution centers, 30 in experiences, and six in sales and customer services, according to a letter from CEO Eric Artz.
