The New York Times inks an AI deal with Amazon to license content for Alexa and other services, affirming journalism’s value in the age of generative AI.

Nearly two years after suing OpenAI and Microsoft for copyright infringement, The New York Times has agreed to license its editorial content to Amazon to train the tech giant’s AI platforms.

Amazon will use content from The New York Times and The Athletic for summaries and excerpts in Alexa.
