Schools across central Indiana have begun to announce closures and delays after a weekend of wintry weather. Previous reporting indicates as much as eight inches of snow accumulated
"Precipitation is taking a break," NWS meteorologist Alexander McGinnis told IndyStar. "Today is going to be breezy with wind gusts of 30-35 miles per hour. Widespread light snowfall in Central Indiana will come late in the day Monday, going into Monday night."
Today's official high temperature was in the low 50s around midnight (early this morning) and will continue to fall to near freezing by sunset. Occasional snow bursts will be possible as well. Accumulation is not expected, but periods of low visibility will be possible.

Crews with the Indianapolis Department of Public Works, along with crews from AFSCME Local No. 725, are preparing for the upcoming winter weather. According to a news release from the Indy DPW, crews will begin rotating 12-hour shifts on Friday to monitor and treat roads as necessary in preparation for the winter weather
