Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has a permissive approach to Tren de Aragua activities there but does not control them in the United States, a federal report concluded last month.

A newly released report from the U.S. National Intelligence Council concludes that while the Nicolás Maduro regime tolerates the feared Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, it is unlikely the Venezuelan strongman exercises direct control over the organization.

A recently declassified intelligence memo suggests that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is likely not explicitly directing the activities of the criminal gang Tren de Aragua in the United States.
