A tropical disturbance that made its way from Florida is now over the northern Gulf and is expected to bring heavy rain and flash flooding to the region on Thursday and Friday. The NOAA's National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported Thursday that the associated shower and thunderstorm activity remained disorganized and located mainly to the west and southwest of the center.

A weather system moving across the Florida Panhandle is showing an increased chance of developing into a tropical depression as it heads west toward the northern Gulf Coast, according to the National Hurricane Center.
