The pilot of a SkyWest flight told passengers Friday night that he performed an "aggressive maneuver" to avoid an apparent B-52 military aircraft in-flight as he came in for a landing in Minot, North Dakota — then apologized for the sudden move.

The pilot operating a SkyWest flight from Minnesota to North Dakota on Friday night apologized to passengers after making what they described as an “aggressive maneuver” to avoid a midair collision with a military aircraft, according to audio of their intercom message recorded by a passenger.

The Federal Aviation Administration on Monday said it's investigating the incident that occurred between a Delta regional jet and a B-52 aircraft.
