South Africa has earned a seventh successive win after beating Pakistan by 10 wickets on day four of the second test in Cape Town and swept the series 2-0.

South Africa finally break Pakistan's resistance on the fourth day of the second Test to complete a 2-0 series win and finish top of the World Test Championship table.

Ryan Rickelton posted the joint seventh-highest score by a South African in tests with 259 as his side ran up a huge 615 before reducing Pakistan to an effective 64 for four at the close on day two of the second and final test at Newlands on Saturday.

South Africa's youngest test cricketer Kwena Maphaka got the key wicket of Babar Azam as Pakistan slipped to 155-6 on the third day of the second and final test on Sunday.

The 50-over World Cup is far older and has been competed for since back in 1975. Australia are the record winners having run out victorious on five occasions (1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015). England took the 2019 crown after a dramatic Ben Stokes-inspired super-over win over New Zealand at Lord's.

South Africa were 32 runs shy of winning the first test while Pakistan needed only two wickets for success as the contest headed to a thrilling finish on the fourth day at Centurion on Sunday.

The ICC has fined Pakistan players 25 percent of their match fee and also docked the team five World Test Championship points for maintaining a slow over-rate against South Africa in the second test at Newlands.
