PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – Pittsburgh Steelers star TJ Watt has officially signed a four-year, $123 million contract extension, which includes $108 million guaranteed. Watt is slated to earn an average salary of $41 million per year, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
The Steelers drafted him in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin. Many teams wanted Herbig to flip to inside linebacker, citing his size as an issue, but the Steelers saw his explosiveness and bend and kept him at outside linebacker. Now, they are reaping the benefits of that projection.
