Following the death of a Florida man on Mount Washington, state officials are reminding hikers to have a plan and prepare for emergencies before hitting the trails this summer.

A 79-year-old Jacksonville man who wandered off the summit of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire has prompted a multi-day search by state parks personnel, wildlife officers and volunteers, the New Hampshire Fish & Game Law Enforcement Division said.
