The Chicago Cubs and Houston Astros have agreed on a trade that will send two-time All-Star reliever Ryan Pressly and cash to Chicago, according to ESPN. Pressly has agreed to waive his no-trade clause as part of the arrangement and the Astros will reportedly send money to the Cubs to help cover his salary.

“The Chicago Cubs are finalizing a trade to acquire closer Ryan Pressly from the Houston Astros, pending medical review, sources tell ESPN,” Passan reported. “Pressly will waive his no-trade clause to Chicago to facilitate the move, and Houston will send money to help cover his $14 million salary.”

A Ryan Pressly trade is looking more imminent as the Houston Astros reportedly have a tentative deal in place with the Chicago Cubs.  The hold up now revolves around Pressly’s full no-trade rights.  There also is competition from another mid-west team.
