M icrosoft has suddenly shut its movies and TV store on Xbox consoles and Windows PCs. As of today you can no longer purchase new movies or TV shows from the Microsoft Store on Xbox or Windows, but you will still be able to access previously purchased content on devices.

On the same page, Microsoft directed users to sign up for Movies Anywhere if they aren't already members, which makes purchased content available across platforms, and to shop at other media stores including Amazon's Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home.

Unfortunately, Microsoft says it is not providing any refunds or ways for users to transfer their libraries to other digital video services. However, U.S. users can link select titles to Movies Anywhere, a platform that consolidates digital purchases from participating retailers into a single library.
