Elon Musk's Tesla has seen a huge drop in sales in a number of European countries in recent weeks as the billionaire's involvement in politics has taken a toll on his business

"Germany remains very sensitive to its history and Musk's political rhetoric is potentially toxic, given that Tesla consumers are partly motivated by environmental concerns," said German automotive analyst Matthias Schmidt. "The car is good," 60-year-old Enrico Parano said about his Tesla.

Though Tesla’s shares doubled over the past 12 months, they’ve had a tough run since the inauguration. Investors are waiting to see if Elon Musk can keep the company’s charmed run going.
