A SkyWest flight, acting as a Delta connection between Minneapolis to Minot, North Dakota, was cleared for landing on Friday when the pilot “performed a go-around” to avoid colliding with a B-52 bomber, the airline said.

The close encounter near Minot International Airport forced the Minneapolis-to-Minot flight into an "aggressive maneuver," with the pilot saying it was "not normal at all."

The tower involved was not a Federal Aviation Administration tower, so the agency does not have a report on the event. The FAA is working to gather information on the incident, the agency said.
