The 2025 College Football Playoff still has three games remaining to decide a national champion. However, other football programs across the country are already building for next season after the transfer portal opened.

The Tar Heels have their new offensive coordinator, hiring former Missouri State and Louisville head coach Petrino, per On3. UNC fired 2025 offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens earlier in December after a single season in the role. Petrino was most recently the interim head coach for Arkansas following Sam Pittman's firing in September.

Tickets for the Indiana-Miami College Football Playoff national championship game are available, but they come with a hefty price tag

Per On3, Horton committed to the Aggies on Sunday after entering the transfer portal following the Crimson Tide’s College Football Playoff loss in the Rose Bowl to Indiana. Horton finished third on the team with 42 catches for 511 yards but led all Alabama receivers with eight touchdowns.
