Paul Corcoran of Fitchburg, Massachusetts took home $2 million after accidentally purchasing an extra Powerball ticket last week.
The winning $2 million Powerball tickets came from two different states, Louisiana and Wisconsin, although it remains unknown where exactly those tickets were sold. The lucky winners matched five numbers (no Powerball) and doubled their prize thanks to the Power Play (2X). The winning numbers for the drawing were 1, 28, 34, 50, 58 and Powerball 8.
More than 365,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million, the lottery said.

A man in Massachusetts claimed two prizes collectively worth $2 million after his two tickets won money in the same Powerball drawing earlier this month.
According to a press release from Powerball, Paul Corcoran of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, won $2 million in the July 9 Powerball drawing. He did so with a pair of tickets, both of which were worth $1 million after he matched five numbers. Corcoran did not intend to purchase both tickets, though.
