Nominations for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards - television’s top honor - were revealed Tuesday. The Apple TV+ series “Severance” was the most-nominated series, notching 27 nominations, according to the Television Academy.
Shows hosted by Jon Stewart (“The Daily Show”), Stephen Colbert (“The Late Show”) and Jimmy Kimmel (“Jimmy Kimmel Live”) will compete for best talk series. Only three series were nominated this year, leaving “Late Night With Seth Meyers” and “Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney” out in the cold.
The 2025 Emmy race has finally kicked off, with Apple’s twisty workplace drama “Severance” leading all shows with 27 nominations. HBO’s DC supervillain series “The Penguin” is close behind with 24 nods, followed by Apple and Seth Rogen’s Hollywood satire “The Studio” and HBO’s vacation thriller “The White Lotus” with 23 apiece.
