"From the moment we stepped off the seaplane, we knew we were somewhere truly special. The welcome alone was unforgettable—every member of the team greeted us with such warmth, and to our amazement, they even knew our daughter’s name before we had properly arrived. That level of personalised service continued throughout our entire stay and truly set LUX* apart. The reception area is beautiful: bright, airy, and home to the most incredible little coffee spot. Their coffee is so good that I’d highly recommend taking some home—either ground or whole beans—so you can enjoy a taste of the island long after you leave. Our Beach Pool Villa was perfection. Spotless, unbelievably spacious, and with direct access to everything we needed. Waking up there each morning felt like a dream. The Kids Club was a standout for us. It’s wonderfully run, with thoughtful activities that make use of the island itself. Our daughter loved every minute—especially the kids’ cooking class! Having a place so dedicated to fun, learning, and creativity made the holiday even more special for our family. Beyond that, the island is full of unique experiences. We tried the mastering coffee class, painted at the Junkyard Art Studio right on the beach, and even enjoyed a kayak around the villa. Every day brought something new to discover. The food, though, deserves its own paragraph. It was out of this world. Every meal, every restaurant—pure excellence. The chefs clearly take immense pride in their work, and the service staff were just as impressive. We mainly dined at East, Senses, and Mixe, with a few lunches at Lagoon, Veli, and Beach Rouge—and I can honestly say we didn’t have a single meal that was anything but exceptional. We also spent time at the spa, which was calm, soothing, and beautifully designed. A wonderful way to unwind. Even on the couple of rainy days we had, the island’s energy never dipped. There’s such a warm, relaxed vibe everywhere you go, with so many friendly people always around to help or share a chat. LUX* South Ari isn’t just stunning—it feels alive, inviting, and full of heart. This place is true paradise. We left already dreaming about when we could return."

"I had an absolutely unforgettable experience at Anantara Kihavah. I genuinely cried when it was time to leave. Azmeen, our personal concierge, was attentive, thoughtful, and always ready to help, making our stay feel truly luxurious and seamless. Nothing compares to this visit in the Maldives, and I’ve traveled to many incredible places around the world. The reefs around the resort are pristine and teeming with life. We went on a turtle excursion, and the reef at Anantara Kihavah easily outshone neighboring islands. In fact, we spotted more sea turtles accidentally while enjoying activities at the resort, from the underwater restaurant to night snorkelling, than we did elsewhere. We spent nearly every day in the water, snorkeling and exploring the vibrant marine life. We were amazed by the variety of sea creatures we saw: cuttlefish, squid, eagle rays, lionfish, blacktip reef sharks, stingrays, parrotfish, angel fish, butterflyfish, unicorn fish, triggerfish, and even a very rare brown marbled grouper! It was huge, but peacefully chilling on the reef. One of the highlights was a resort-organized excursion to see manta rays, and by luck, we also encountered three whale sharks, what an experience I will never forget. The resort is also deeply committed to marine conservation, with a coral reef breeding program aimed at preserving marine life. We saw the coral boxes and the areas where new reefs are cultivated, which was fascinating. The resort provided reef-protective sunscreen. I love these thoughtful little touches for guests! Dining at the resort was exceptional, with outstanding cuisine and impeccable service. I highly recommend both the underwater Sea Restaurant and the Fire Restaurant. One of the highlights was experiencing the Michelin Star Caviar Indulgence under the ocean’s waves at the underwater restaurant and the Michelin Star Guest Chef Series with Chef Ricki Weston. We enjoyed an exquisite menu including canapés, lamb tartar caviar trifle, and red snapper croustade with the wine pairing. I particularly loved the Lobster Thermidor at Manzaru, it was unforgettable. Between the incredible food, stunning wildlife, and exceptional hospitality, this resort truly has it all. I would return in a heartbeat. Thank you for such an amazing stay!"

"The water here is incredibly warm, like swimming in a jacuzzi! There’s one restaurant where you eat all of your meals. They have excursions you can choose from just about every day. We did a dolphin boat tour, snorkeling, a city tour to a larger island nearby, a massage, and my son was able to go scuba diving for his first time. The water was extremely clear and the staff were incredible. We stayed in a beachside villa, and I loved having the beach just a few steps from the back porch."
